Last Day...

Today is my last day at a job I have had for almost 7 years. It is only the second long term job I have had in my professional career. When you stay with a company this long, you begin to form a bond with everyone around you, you create a family. The decision to move on from that family, is never an easy one, and it always causes you to reflect on the time you spent with them. When I walked through the door for the first time, I was an associate producer working directly with the Creative Director. That first week is so vivid in my memory, I can still hear the hum of the office as if I was sitting there today. The first project I worked on was a LiveStream for Google. Back then they were called “Google Hangouts on Air”. We were in the process of creating something new and without knowing it at the time, shaping my future. Over the next 7 years I would produce and direct several hundred pieces of content. From Live Action, Scripted, Interviews, Animation, and many more. My favorite projects we're the ones that challenged not only me but the team. It forced us to dig deep and bring out something inside all of us that we would not be able to find alone, but together we made it look easy. I feel incredibly honored to have worked alongside some of the strongest creatives in the industry. Producers, writers, editors, animators, and interns who would constantly step out of their comfort zones to be better and to better the project. The mentality of teamwork is something I will carry with me wherever I go. And the relationships that have been forged over these years is something I will never let go of. As this chapter closes, I know it is not the end. The next journey begins on the next page and there is more to be written. In the end, it was an incredibly tough decision to move on. But it is one I needed to make. I'm looking for the next challenge, the next opportunity to grow. Taking everything I have learned with me as I take the next step, I hope I continue to make my team proud. Thank you to everyone. Every Manager, Producer, Intern, Creative, and Client. Everything I am today, was shaped by you and for that I am eternally grateful.
