2018 - Saying “No” to Resolutions

It’s 2018 and this year I want to try something different. This year I am saying “No” to Resolutions and “Yes” to challenges. I can’t even tell you what my resolutions where last year, but I know for a fact I didn’t stick to them. So this year instead of creating a bunch of weird resolves… what does that even mean, I am going to challenge myself to do more and be better.
This year I am challenging myself to do 5 things:
1 - Lose Weight
Yea I know, everyone makes this New Year Resolution. But has anyone challenged you to do it? What if I told you I challenged you! Would you be more inclined to prove me wrong?
2 - Create More Content
I’m challenging myself to make more content and put it out there. Doesn’t matter if it is a 6 second video or a 60 minute Pilot, I am going to make more stuff and put it out there.
3 - Be More Attentive
More attentive in everything I am doing. Instead of getting distracted or playing on my phone, I am going to focus on what I am doing and give it my full attention.
4 - Say “Yes” More
To trying new things, to taking a risk, to staying home with my family. I’m going to say “Yes” to the things I want to do and try.
5 - Spending more Quality time with my Family
I’m not just saying this to say it. I want to do it. I want to spend more time with my kid, walk my dog, be there for my wife, etc. And actually be there. Not just take a picture for the gram and move on.
Those are my New Year’s Challenges. How am I going to do it? Do a lot of little things that add up to big things. Build on them until they become habits and recognize that I won’t be perfect all the time, and that it is ok to make a mistake.

What are you challenging yourself to do this year?
